Rafał Tomkiewicz graduated in 2018 from the singing class of prof. Artur Stefanowicz at the University of Music F. Chopin in Warsaw. In the years 2017/19, he was a member of the Young Talents Training Program - the Opera Academy at the Grand Theater in Warsaw, studying under the direction of Matthias Rexroth, Hedwig Fassbender, Eytan Pessen.
In 2017, he won the first prize at the 3rd Polish Vocal Competition Krystyna Jamroz and a special distinction in the 4th International Early Music Vocal Competition in Poznań.
He made his debut in 2017 in the title role in Cavalli's opera Il Giasone and then in 2018 he appeared as Nino in the opera Il Trespolo tutore by Alessandro Stradelli, both productions at Collegium Nobilium in Warsaw.
The artist's performances in the 2018/19 season include Chichester Psalms by Bernstein in Koblenz, Tolomeo in the opera by Giulio Cesare Handel at the Grand Theater in Poznań under the direction of Paul Esswood, the title part in Radames Eötvös at the Opera in Biel / Bienne in Switzerland, performances at Te Deum by Teixeira in Geneva and Lausanne, concert and recording of the CD Il Trespolo tuttore at the Baroque Festival Alessandro Stradella in Viterbo.
The artist's plans for the 2019/20 season include performances at the Festival of Baroque Operas Dramma per Musica in Warsaw (Narciso in Handel's Agrippina) and concert of duets in the Royal Castle in Warsaw, at the Theater an der Wien / Wiener Kammeoper (Anastasio in Giustino by Haendel), at the Teatro Comunale in Bolzano (title part in Radames Eötvösa), at the Grand Theater in Poznań (Hamor in Jephta by Haendel under the direction of Paul Esswood), in the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz (concert of 3 countertenors), at the Polish Royal Opera House ( Unulfo in Rodelinda by Haendel)
