Adam Zdunikowski


Born in Warsaw in 1966, Adam Zdunikowski began his musical practice at the age of seven. It was then that he started singing in the „Lutnia�? Boy’s Choir. Zdunikowski completed his vocal studies at Warsaw Academy of Music, graduating from Roman Wegrzyn’s class.

Zdunikowski won many honourable distinctions and prizes at the National and International Vocal Competitions ( Ada Sari Competition in Nowy Sacz, Stanislaw Moniuszko International Competition in Warsaw, Belvedere Competition in Vienna).

In 1990 he debuted on two stages, Teatr Wielki in Warsaw (where he is a soloist until now) and Warsaw Chamber Opera. Since that time he has mastered more than 35 opera parts.

Adam Zdunikowski has guest-appeared on many opera stages in Poland as well as at Hamburg Staastsoper. He also took part in the premiere of Straszny Dwor (A Haunted Manor) by Moniuszko in Buffalo (USA). Recently he has started working with Prague’s Narodni Divadlo.

Zdunikowski frequently appears at various Polish festivals, including Wratislavia Cantans, as well as abroad (Al Bustan Festival in Beirut).

Apart from operatic repertoire, Adam Zdunikowski also sings oratorio music. He is highly esteemed in this field, which has been proved by invitation from famous conductors, to mention Jerzy Semkow, Grzegorz Nowak, Noam Sheriff, Nello Santi, Kazimierz Kord, Krzysztof Penderecki. His oratorio repertoire encompasses mainly classical and romantic parts (Ponchielli, Rossini, Stefani, Haydn, Beethoven, Moniuszko, Schubert) but also contemporary music (Szymanowski, Penderecki).
